Reynaldo was created especially for my niece, Emma, so the original has a home of its own—but his prints live on.

He also marks the beginning of something pretty special in my art. Reynaldo was my first real inspiration for creating the quirky, slightly ridiculous characters that have started becoming such a big part of what I paint.

The idea for him came after a fun-filled day with my daughter, Amy, where we spent the day laughing, playing, and being completely silly together. I felt like I had tapped into that carefree part of myself that adults sometimes forget about—and when I sat down to create, out came Reynaldo.

He’s wonky. He’s colorful. He’s unapologetically goofy. And that’s exactly why I love him.
The original Reynaldo belongs to Emma, but I love that through his prints, a little piece of his ridiculous personality can find its way into other homes too. 💛
