Edward was created during a moment when I needed to get back to the simplest reason I make art: because I love to paint.

There was no plan for him. No thought about whether he would sell, become a print, or fit into a collection. I picked up my Caran d’Ache Neopastels and let the colors, marks, and emotions lead the way.

The result was Edward—a wonderfully wonky moose with a personality that seemed to appear all on its own. His bright orange background, wildly colorful antlers, unexpected layers, and slightly bewildered expression make him impossible to take too seriously. 😂

But underneath the humor, Edward represents something much more personal. His colors reflect exactly how I was feeling when I created him: bright, messy, layered, unexpected—a little chaotic, but somehow still coherent.

Edward wasn't originally created with an agenda. He was created because I needed the process of making him.

And maybe that's exactly why he turned out to be so special. 🧡
