Henrietta (Original)

$80.00

Mixed Media - Acrylic & Pastel on Acrylic Paper

Frogs have always held a special place in my art. The first painting I ever sold was a frog, so every time I paint one, it feels a little like returning to where this journey began.

Henrietta was also a first for me - my first true exploration of mixed media. I built her with layers of acrylic, then worked pastel over the surface to push the color, texture, and personality even further. I wanted her to feel vibrant and a little unexpected rather than perfectly realistic.

There's something about experimenting with a frog. They've been a part of my art since the beginning, and Henrietta feels like a reminder of how much my work has changed since that very first sale - and how much I still love discovering new ways to make a painting come alive.

And apparently, I'm still painting frogs. Some things are meant to stick.
