Genevieve
Mixed Media Painting
Meet Genevieve.
Genevieve arrived after a long, ordinary day. Not the kind of day that falls apart. Not the kind that changes your life. Just one of those in-between days that leaves a little static in your heart and a few thoughts lingering in your mind long after the clock says you're done.
I couldn't quite put my finger on what I was feeling.
There was determination there. A little restlessness, too. The sense that something was shifting beneath the surface, even if I wasn't quite sure what it was yet.
As I sat down to paint, Genevieve began to take shape. With her wild braid, untamed mane, and spirited expression, she felt like the perfect embodiment of that complicated middle ground between certainty and questioning. She's not lost. She's not troubled. She's simply working through the messiness of being human.
The rich blues surrounding her create a sense of space for reflection, while the warmth and texture woven throughout her coat bring a feeling of strength and resilience. There's movement in her posture, as though she's ready for whatever comes next, even if she doesn't have all the answers yet.
And honestly, that's what I love most about her.
Genevieve doesn't pretend to have everything figured out. She reminds us that not every feeling requires an immediate explanation and not every chapter of life needs a perfectly written plan. Sometimes growth happens in the quiet moments when we're simply learning to sit with ourselves.
Genevieve is for the thinkers, the overthinkers, the dreamers, and anyone who's ever ended the day feeling "something" without knowing exactly what that something was.
A little determined. A little angsty. A little wild around the edges.
Just like the rest of us. 💙🐴✨
