I painted this in 2024 during a period of psychosis, when I was deeply detached from reality. My mind was chaotic, but somehow this place emerged from it - a quiet sanctuary tucked between mountains, beneath an electric blue sky, surrounded by water and impossible color.

At the time, it felt like my secret serenity. A place that existed somewhere between imagination and reality, where everything became still for a moment.

Looking at it now, I'm struck by the contrast. I was experiencing one of the most disorienting periods of my life, yet I created something that feels protected, peaceful, almost hidden away from the rest of the world.

The perspective isn't perfect. The colors aren't realistic. The landscape doesn't need to make complete sense. Neither did my world at the time.

This painting is a piece of that world - a place in my mind created when reality became too difficult to hold onto.

And somehow, in the middle of all that chaos, I painted myself somewhere safe.
